Goodbye Volcano High delayed to August

Patience, rockers...

Goodbye Volcano High has been delayed into August, developer KO_OP has announced.

Now expected on 29 August, the title was previously slated for a 15 June release following an earlier delay.

“The reality is that, with our current workload, we could not have met our June launch date without significant cuts to the quality and scope of the game,” KO_OP said on Twitter. “This would mean delivering something much different than what we’ve envisioned and worked toward. We don’t want to release anything else than the bet version of the game we have been making throughout our development cycle.

“Plus, we’re a studio that prides itself on avoiding crunch, it added. “Meeting our original launch date would require our team to work nights, weekend, and early mornings to ship and risk burning people out”.

The delay comes as Goodbye Volcano High was announced as one of eight official selections in the 2023 Tribeca Festival.

Goodbye Volcano High is planned for a 29 August 2023 release on Windows PC, PS4 and PS5.
