Goalie Martin Brodeur is the NHL 14 cover star

EA Sports recently revealed the cover star for NHL 14, making history in the process with a goalie gracing the cover for the first time in series history.

The New Jersey Devils’ Martin Brodeur beat out runner-up Sergei Bobrovsky, another goalie who plays for the Columbus Blue Jackets, to take the hockey game’s cover. Brodeur might have won the cover vote, but Brobrovsky might have the last laugh: he won this year’s Vezina Trophy, awarded to the NHL’s top goalie.

EA Sports has said that over 22 million votes were cast in this year’s cover vote.

NHL 14 will be available from 13 September on Xbox 360 and PS3.
