Ghostbusters Spirits Unleashed a 4v1 game from Friday the 13th dev

Ghostbusters Spirits Unleashed is a new 4v1 asymmetric multiplayer title from IllFonic, developer of Friday the 13th The Game and Predator Hunting Grounds.

The game follows on from Ghostbusters Afterlife, in which the four original Ghostbusters have retired. It stops there, though — you’ll be controlling generic ghost hunters rather than filling the shoes of the recent film’s cast.

“As a Ghostbuster, join with other Ghostbusters to chase and trap ghosts in museums, prisons, hotels, and more, and capture the ghosts before they can fully haunt the areas,” Illfonic said of the game. “Or, as the Ghost, hide, sneak, surprise, scare, and of course, slime Ghostbusters and civilians until the everything has gone completely spooky. Use trickery, deception, and Ectoplasm to gain the upper hand and drive the Ghostbusters out.”

A trailer, below, has confirmed the participation of Ghostbusters veterans Winston Zeddemore (voiced by Ernie Hudson) and Ray Stantz (voiced by Dan Ackroyd).

Ghostbusters Spirits Unleashed is planned for release on Windows PC via the Epic Games Store, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4 and PS5. A release date wasn’t detailed.
