It's for MAR10 Day, get it?!
Nintendo will offer players 12 free months of Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion pack when they buy a Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle, all in celebration of MAR10 Day on 10 March.
Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack offers a host of online features including online multiplayer, cloud saves, and a library of NES, Super NES, Game Boy Nintendo 64, Game Boy Advance, Virtual Boy, and SEGA Mega Drive games. It would normally set you back $59.95 AUD for a year.
The promotion runs from 10 March (get it? MAR10?) and 13 April, and requires those who purchase the bundle in that time to register their purchase through the following web portal. Participating retailers in Australia include Amazon, Big W, Costco, EB Games, The Gamesmen, The Good Guys, Harvey Norman, JB Hi-Fi, Kogan, Officeworks, and Target. Over in New Zealand, participating retailers include Costco, Harvey Norman, Heathcotes, JB Hi-Fi, Mighty Ape, Noel Leeming, PB, Savvy Badger, Spark, and the Warehouse. Nintendo’s own online store is included in the promotion as well, of course.
Over on Amazon.com.au — and yes, this is an affiliate link and we will receive a commission for your purchase — the Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle is currently priced at $887 AUD.
“Register your purchase online and upload a copy of your tax receipt by 15th May 2026… to receive an SMS containing a digital code for a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack Individual Membership in approximately two business days,” Nintendo said alongside the news. “Code can be redeemed within three years.”
If you haven’t picked up a Switch 2, this may be the perfect time. You can read Ben’s Switch 2 review for full thoughts on the console ahead of your purchase. You can also read my own review of Mario Kart World.
Oh, and Happy MAR10 Day!
