GaymerX Australia heads to Kickstarter to finance its first appearance

GX Australia has taken to Kickstarter to finance its first event.

GaymerX organisers, in conjunction with GaymerX organiser Midboss, are seeking to raise $50,000 AUD for a convention to be held in Sydney over 27-28 February 2016.

According to organisers, GaymerX Australia “seeks to create an inclusive, safe space for everyone with a passion for gaming and geek culture.

“Its mission is to celebrate the diversity already present in the community while encouraging developers and publishers to continue improving on issues of representation, community safety, and anti-bullying initiatives.”

The event has already named several special guests, dubbed “Bosses of Honour”, including Chris Avellone (Planescape: Torment and Fallout 2) and Tim Cain (Fallout, Pillars of Eternity).

The event is already being sponsored by the likes of Many Monkeys, Defiant Development, League of Geeks, Well Placed Cactus, Screwtape Studios and many more.
