GameStop US announces Xbox 360 to Xbox One game trading program

GameStop US recently announced details of a new trade-in promotion allowing customers to upgrade Xbox 360 titles to their Xbox One versions for only $10 USD each.

As reported by Videogamer.com, any gamer who purchases the Xbox 360 version of an eligible title that is also going next-gen will be able to trade the game in for its Xbox One version… for a fairly small fee, of course.

Eligible games include Madden NFL 25, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Battlefield 4, Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag and FIFA 14. The scheme begins with the launch Madden NFL 25, and gamers must buy each 360 game within 30 days of their initial release to qualify for the later trade-in. Xbox One versions of those select titles must be purchased by 31 December 2013.

“This is an amazing opportunity for our PowerUp (PUR) members to enjoy their favourite Xbox 360 game until the Xbox One version becomes available,” said Bob Puzon, senior vice president of merchandising at GameStop. “This offer gives PUR members the chance to upgrade their current Xbox 360 game for the new Xbox One standard version of that game for $9.99. This is a great example of how GameStop is helping gamers make the transition to the next generation of consoles economical and seamless.”

We’ve contacted EB Games Australia to see if Aussies will get a similar local scheme.
