Game Workers Unite Australia events planned for GGJ 2019

Game Workers Unite Australia has detailed events planned for GGJ 2019, or the Global Game Jam 2019, across both Melbourne and Sydney.

In Melbourne, Game Workers Unite will have a presence at GGJ Yarra, held across Bar SK, PlayReactive and GhostPattern. You can learn more about the event here, or register for the event here.

Over in Sydney, Game Workers Unite will be holding intellectual property (IP) rights workshops at both the AIE GGJ site (1.00 pm to 3.00 pm AEDT) and the Viva League GGJ site (6.00 pm to 8.00 pm AEDT) on 26 January.

The Global Game Jam will be running all around the world — as you might have expected from its name — between 25-27 January.

Steve Wright

Steve's the owner and Editor-in-Chief of Stevivor.com, the country’s leading independent video games outlet. Steve arrived in Australia back in 2001 on what was meant to be a three-month working holiday before deciding to emigrate and, eventually, becoming a citizen.

Stevivor is a combination of ‘Steve’ and ‘Survivor’, which made more sense back in 2001 when Jeff Probst was up in Queensland. The site started as Steve’s travel blog before transitioning over into video games.

Aside from video games, Steve has interests in hockey and Star Trek, playing the former and helping to cover video games about the latter on TrekMovie.com. By day, Steve works as the communications manager of the peak body representing Victorians as they age.
