Frank O’Connor has left Microsoft

So says LinkedIn.

Halo Franchise Director, Frank O’Connor, has left Microsoft after a twenty-year run on the franchise.

Update: Microsoft has confirmed O’Connor’s departure.

“We thank Frank for his numerous contributions to the Halo franchise and wish him well going forward,” a representative has told Axios.

Original story: Windows Central first noticed that O’Connor’s LinkedIn page now lists an end date of April 2023 against his position at Microsoft, effectively ending a 20-year tenure with Halo.

O’Connor also has a new entry detailing his role as Franchise Creative Director at “NA” since March 2023.

The likely departure of O’Connor follows that of former Halo Director, Joseph Staten. O’Connor started work at Bungie in 2004 before moving over to Microsoft proper.

Neither Microsoft nor O’Connor have made comment about the news as yet; we’ll keep you informed as we learn more.

The latest in the Halo franchise is Halo Infinite, available on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X.
