Fortnite Stranger Things crossover offers new skins

Update: Epic has confirmed full crossover details, which will provide players with the chance to buy two new skins — Chief Hopper (above; 1,500 vBucks), the Demogorgon (1,200 vBucks) or a new Vines weapon wrap.

Original story: Portals to the Upside Down are appearing inside Fortnite, strongly suggesting a crossover with Stranger Things is on the way.

The portals are appearing in Fornite‘s Mega Mall (thanks, Polygon) and look almost identical to the ones found inside Stranger Things itself. Additionally, the Scoops Ahoy ice cream shop, as featured in the Netflix original’s third season, has also appeared in the mall. Coincidence? Doubtful.

At the moment, the Fortnite portals merely connect to one another, but wouldn’t it be cool if they eventually take players into the Upside Down? We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.

Stranger Things Season 3 debuts later today on Netflix. Fornite is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One, PS4, Switch, iOS and Android devices.
