Fortnite raises prices “to help pay the bills”

Spare a thought for the struggling publisher and its game...

Fortnite will raise the cost of V-Buck packages and change its battle passes as, according to Epic Games, “the cost of running [the game] has gone up a lot and we’re raising prices to help pay the bills.”

V-Buck packages will increase across the board, with the $8.99 USD pack now offering 800 V-Bucks rather than 1,000, and the $89.99 USD pack now offering 12,500 rather than 13,500.

Battle Passes will now cost 800 V-Bucks as result, but will offer less V-Bucks for completion as well. Previously, the cost 1,000 V-Bucks, but offered up a total of 1,500 V-Bucks through bonus rewards.

Epic Games was quick to point out that those playing Fortnite, Fall Guys, and Rocket League on the Epic Games Store, or through purchases made through Epic’s payment system on PC, iOS, Android, and the web will receive 20% back on their purchases.

Fortnite is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5, Switch, iOS, and Android devices.
