Fortnite Battle Royale 50v50 mode on now

Fortnite Battle Royale‘s special 50v50 mode is on now, giving players increased chances of frenzied combat and resource gathering.

For those new to the mode, 100 players are separated into two teams — hence the 50v50 moniker — and dropped on to the map via two team buses. A final battle spot is marked on the map from the get-go, making it very easy to see where you’ll need to end up if you want to win.

In the final battle zone, supply drops are plentiful — between 3-6 drops will take place every two minutes. For those who don’t excel at combat, you might want to avoid that area and instead stockpile building resources; you can harvest 75% more goods than normal.

Players have ten minutes to get into the final battle zone, and the match runs for a final five minutes after that point. Or, you know, one team emerges with a Victory Royale before then.

Fortnite: Battle Royale is available on Windows PC, Xbox One, PS4 and iOS.
