Former Sonic Lead, Yuji Naka, joins Square Enix

Former Sonic Team developer Yuki Naka is now employed at Square Enix, the gaming personality recently confirmed.

Naka was the lead programmer of the original Sonic the Hedgehog and worked with Sonic Team until 2006. He left the developer to form his own, independent game studio called Prope in 2006.

Naka took to Twitter to confirm the news, writing, “I’m joining game development as before, and strive to develop games at Square Enix.”

Naka didn’t detail his work any further.

We’ll keep you informed as we learn what Naka is working on with Square Enix. Until then, any guesses?
