Former Annapurna staff reportedly take over Private Division portfolio

Lots of (potential) change.

Former staff at Annapurna Interactive — all of whom resigned in September over a dispute with owner Megan Ellison — have reportedly taken over the Private Division portfolio following its sale by Take-Two back in November.

Bloomberg reports that the staff have formed under a new, as yet unnamed company and has control of the games and franchises under the control of Private Division. Those include the likes of Outer Wilds, Cocoon, and Kerbal Space Program 2.

The site reports that Private Division’s portfolio was purchased by the Texas-based Haveli Investments, which has allegedly partnered with ex-Annapurna staff. Their deal means Haveli will fund the new company and provide control of Private Division’s wares.

Take-Two sold off Private Division in November 2023, also shuttering down Roll7 and Intercept games.

We’ll report back as more is known.
