Firewatch on Switch has a hidden retro platformer

Who knew about Forrest 64?

Firewatch on Switch has a charming hidden retro platformer hidden within, developer Campo Santo has recently confirmed.

“An even more rarely seen piece of Firewatch: How closely have you dug into the Nintendo Switch version of the game,” the developer asked in a tweet. “Have you truly completed everything on that cart?”

While the secret platformer — call Forrest 64 in-game — was discovered back in 2018, it seems most of us missed that memo (at least, according to reactions to the tweet itself).

To access the platformer, you’ll need to find a special supply case and use code 1964 to uncover Forrest 64‘s cartridge. Then, you’ll need to head to a special console (sadly not an N64) to actually start playing. The process is detailed in a video below.

Firewatch is currently available on Windows PC, Mac, Linux, Xbox One, PS4 and Switch.
