Firaxis: XCOM 2 issues “the first thing we talk about about when we come in in the morning”

Speaking with Rock Paper Shotgun, Firaxis’ Lead Designer, Jake Solomon, said the developer is busy at working addressing performance issues within XCOM 2.

Solomon said that the performance issues plaguing XCOM 2 are “the first thing we talk about about when we come in in the morning,” and that Firaxis is taking the issues “incredibly seriously”.

“I can honestly say that we didn’t know it would be this way at launch,” Solomon added. “Maybe this is damning on me, but I’m sitting here talking to you now on the laptop I use to play it on, and I didn’t see these issues. We didn’t catch this stuff in compatibility testing. We’re fully, fully accountable for the product in people’s hands, so we certainly take responsibility for it.”

Regardless, Solomon pledged that Firaxis is “working very furiously” on fixes and that the developer “already [has] a lot of those issues in [their] sights.”

XCOM 2 is a Windows PC exclusive.
