Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood targeted by DDoS attacks, says Square Enix

Final Fantasy XIV has been the target of a string of distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks, Square Enix today has confirmed.

“We have confirmed that since Jun. 16th, we have been experiencing DDoS attacks from an anonymous third-party targeting the Final Fantasy XIV game servers on the NA data center,” Square Enix on the game’s website.

Square Enix added it is “taking every possible measure to address” said attacks, and that personal and character information is safe.

Closer to home, Square Enix recently confirmed that Aussie-favourite Japan-based server Tonberry is now designated as a congested server. Square Enix is offering in-game rewards to those who transfer from the server.

Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood is out now on Windows PC and PS4.
