Final Fantasy XIV: Aussie-favourite Tonberry server now designated as congested

Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood‘s Japan-based Tonberry server has been designated as congested, Square Enix recently advised.

The server, a fan-favourite of the FF XIV Australian and New Zealand Facebook Fan Group, will no longer accept new characters or transfers.

“As previously mentioned by producer and director Yoshida, there is currently a large number of players logging in to all Worlds, and the wait times for logging in are long as a result,” the page explaining the change detailed.

Instead, it’s suggested those wishing to use Japan-based servers chose any of the following preferred worlds:

  • Durandal
  • Kujata
  • Ridill
  • Typhon
  • Valefor
  • Yojimbo
  • Zeromus

Those who wish to receive several in-game “World Population Balancing Incentive” bonuses can transfer a character from Tonberry to a preferred world. Details of incentives can be found here.

Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood is available now on Windows PC and PS4.
