The Final Fantasy VII Remake was announced too early, Square says

The Final Fantasy VII Remake was announced too early, according to Game Director Tetsuya Nomura.

Speaking with Multiplayer, Nomura explained that the remake was announced before news of the game leaked. As a result of Square Enix’s cards being revealed early, fans are now left to wait for progress (and hardly any updates).

“I am aware that we announced it very early, but in the industry, word was starting to spread that we were working on the game, so we decided to stop keeping it a secret and to reveal it officially,” Nomura said.

The Final Fantasy VI Remake didn’t feature at all at E3 2018.

For those looking for a core Square JRPG, Kingdom Hearts 3 will head to Xbox One and PS4 in January 2019.
