Final Fantasy 14 Heavensward expansion free for a limited time

The Final Fantasy 14 Heavensward expansion is free to those who own the game’s Online Starter Edition for a limited time.

From now until 27 June, the 2015 expansion will be available to download for free and keep forever. The expansion tells the story of the Warrior of Light and comes with a new playable race in the Au Ra alongside new areas, three new jobs and more.

Moreover, a special Free Login promotion means those players with lapsed accounts will be able to play Final Fantasy 14 for free for up to seven days. That promotion ends on 17 June.

Heavensward was followed by Stormblood and will soon be joined by Shadowbringers.

In Australia, you can grab Final Fantasy 14 Online Starter Edition for $9.99 AUD. It comes with 30-day access to the game; after that, you’re looking at a base subscription fee of 10.99 € for 30 more days.

Final Fantasy 14 is available on Windows PC, Mac and PS4.
