Film Victoria creates Women in Games fellowship

Film Victoria is creating a fellowship to bring more females into the state’s games industry.

The Women in Games fellowship will offer up to $25,000 as a grant, each, to those women who wish to “undertake fellowships and professional development opportunities that will directly assist them to undertake key creative, management and/or leadership roles in the Victorian games sector.”

Proposed fellowships can be used across “a broad range of areas and undertaken through a variety of methods,” Film Victoria advised. “Examples include, but are not limited to, business courses, internships with local or international companies, or structured mentorships.”

Film Victoria expressly stated that the fellowship has been created to “impact the gender imbalance in the [Victorian games] industry”.

More information on the fellowship and eligibility can be found here.
