FIFA 18 on Switch: No Frostbite engine, story mode or app support

The Nintendo Switch version of FIFA 18 has been confirmed to be a cut-down version of the game available on PC, Xbox One and PS4.

First, it’s been confirmed that the Switch version of FIFA 18 isn’t running DICE’s Frostbite engine; as such, the game’s Journey story mode will not feature.

Moreover, the Switch version of the title will not support the FIFA 18 Companion App, used in FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT) mode.

Truly, it seems the Switch version of FIFA 18 is more closely connected to the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the title, also available alongside the robust Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4 editions from 29 September.

Will you make the jump to FIFA 18 on Switch or will you remain on your PC or current-gen console?
