Far Cry 4 gets 60FPS update on PS5, Xbox Series

More frames!

Far Cry 4 has received a surprise 60 frames-per-second (FPS) update on PS5, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X.

“30 FPS? Fucking cute. Now, lean in,” Ubisoft said in an in-character message from antagonist Pagan Min. “Far Cry 4 just whispered its way to a smooth 60 FPS upgrade on current gen consoles. Let the chaos seduce you.”

Far Cry 4 is Far Cry 3 with the added benefit of monkeys, elephants and the occasional bout of snow,” Shane wrote in our original 2014 review of the title. “That’s not necessarily a bad thing.

“Despite being a little too close to home to the previous game in the franchise — I mean, how many times can you burn a field of opium — you really can’t go wrong with Far Cry 4.”

Far Cry 4 is available on a host of platforms, including Windows PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS3, PS4, and PS5. This update is only for Xbox Series and PS5.
