Fallout 4 started out life as a current-gen port of Skyrim

Speaking with GameInformer, Bethesda’s Todd Howard confirmed that Fallout 4 started out life as an Xbox One port of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Howard said the port was used to understand the as-then unreleased current-gen technology.

And before you ask, Howard said,” don’t get your hopes up yet” about the possibility of seeing Skyrim itself on current-gen consoles.

Fallout 4 will be available on Xbox One, PS4 and Windows PC next week.
