Expect Star Wars Fate of the Old Republic sometime before 2030

I hope the Jedi Order still teaches patience...

Going off Stevivor’s stats during The Game Awards, Star Wars Fate of the Old Republic gripped most viewers’ attention. It’s somewhat of a shame, then, that the game isn’t coming out any time soon. Taking to Twitter, Arcanaut Studios head Casey Hudson said that Fate of the Old Republic would only confirm that the RPG would be released sometime before 2030.

“Don’t worry about the ‘not till 2030’ rumors,” Hudson said. “Game will be out before then. I’m not getting any younger!”

Hudson’s post followed a musing by game journalist Jason Schreier, who said, “Lucasfilm says [Arcanaut] was founded this year, which means that 2030 is an *optimistic* guess. Maybe it’ll be a PlayStation 7 game.”

Hudson’s last studio, Humanoid Origin, closed up shop about a year ago, with Hudson’s own LinkedIn saying he started his current role as founder and CEO of Arcanaut as recently as July 2025.

We’ll have more on Star Wars Fate of the Old Republic as it becomes available. Until then: be patient.
