Ex-Lionhead staffers heading to Kickstarter to fund card-based Fable title

IGN today reported that ex-Lionhead developers are taking to Kickstarter to fund Fable Fortune, a card-based game set in the world of Fable.

The former Lionhead staffers have created a new development studio called Flaming Fowl, and aim to complete a secret project that was started up in 2014. The studio has already licensed the Fable IP from Microsoft for the project.

To be released in early 2017, Fable Fortune would be similar in tone to Hearthstone but will focus on RPG-style quests. The franchise standard of choosing your own destiny, be it a good or evil one, will also feature in-game.

The game’s Kickstarter page will go live at 12.01 am AEST tomorrow, 1 June. Flaming Fowl is seeking £250,000 GBP (around $510,000 AUD) to finish off the project. Fable Fortune, if successfully funded, will release on Windows PC and Xbox One. An open beta has already been planned for this year.
