Ex-Infinity Ward Lead Designer Todd Alderman takes new job at… Infinity Ward

Designer Todd Alderman is returning to Call of Duty studio Infinity Ward, Polygon today reports.

Alderman, who last worked on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 at Infinity Ward, left the studio with Jason West and Vince Zampella to form Titanfall studio Respawn Entertainment. Alderman was also in the group of employees that sued Activision Blizzard for unpaid work on Modern Warfare 2 in 2010.

The developer left Respawn in 2012 and has since worked at League of Legends studio Riot Games.

Activision confirmed with Game Informer that Alderman has indeed returned to his former studio and will server as Infinity Ward’s new Multiplayer Project Director.

“This is about hiring the best talent for the right position. Todd’s accomplishments speak for themselves,” Infinity Ward head, Dave Stohl, said. “We’re happy to have him lead multiplayer development here at Infinity Ward as well as provide a level of leadership across the entire studio team. Following last year’s combination with Neversoft, we’ve continued to add some great talent throughout the studio. As we focus on the future, there’s a real sense of energy that has us all excited about what’s to come.”

What do you think this means for Infinity Ward’s new Call of Duty title?
