The Evil Within 2 gets free, first-person update

The Evil Within 2 can now be played in first-person thanks to a new, free update.

“I think exploring Union in first-person makes the scale feel even bigger than it does when you’re in third-person,” Tango Gameworks’ producer, Shinsaku Ohara, said of the change.

“Also, being able to see our environments and enemies up close allows players to get an even better look at how much effort went into their designs.”

Players can switch between first- and third-person views at any time they choose, via the in-game menu. The switch can also be applied inside the game’s free trial. As with most trials, any progress made in the demo can be carried over into the full retail game should you decide to purchase it.

The Evil Within 2 is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4. We reviewed it here.
