Evil Dead The Game stops new content; Switch version cancelled

Another one bites the dust.

Evil Dead The Game has stagnated, with developer Sabre Interactive confirming it will not provide new content for the title. Moreover, the Switch version of the title has been cancelled.

“Today, we have made the decision not to pursue the development of new content for Evil Dead The Game,” Sabre said.

“We also confirm that we will not be releasing a Nintendo Switch version of the game,” it continued. “We will keep servers up for the foreseeable future and address any major issues that arise.”

It’s unclear how long “the foreseeable future” is, but we’ll keep you posted as we learn more.

The title was first released in May 2022; it was updated in February this year to include a 40-player Splatter Royale.

Evil Dead The Game is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4 and PS5. We reviewed the game here, saying “it’s a little too underdeveloped to recommend as a single-player game” despite modes designed for just that.
