NBA 2K League to use Alienware PCs, special build of 2K18

The NBA 2K League, the Esports league that will feature teams associated with the real world NBA, will be played exclusively on Windows PC, it today announced.

The Windows PCs won’t even be using the PC version of NBA 2K18; rather, they’ll use a unique build of the title that will be used to balance play within the Esports league.

The NBA 2K18 League will partner with Dell and Intel to provide Alienware computers for competitions and for teams’ training facilities. Matches will use Alienware Aurora PCs with 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8700K processors, 16 GB DDR4 RAM at 2666 MHz and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 graphics cards. These will be paired with 25″ Alienware AW2518H monitors, capable of 1080p resolution and with a 240Hz refresh rate.

“Our partnerships with Dell and Intel give us the ability to utilize state-of-the-art hardware and technology that will optimize league play and the viewing experience for fans around the world,” said Brendan Donohue, NBA 2K League Managing Director.

Alienware accompanied this news with a new range of Alienware 15″ and 17″ gaming laptops, complete with 8th Gen Intel Core i5, i7 and i9 high-performance processors.
