ANZ Splatoon 2, Smash Bros Ultimate champions heading to E3

ANZ Splatoon 2 and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate champions were crowned over this past weekend and will represent our countries at tournaments that will be held just before E3 2019 kicks off in Los Angeles.

In the Splatoon 2 Australasian Open Grand Final, team Lime Soda came back from the clutches of defeat to walk away with a 5-4 finals win over Morning Sun. Lime Soda will duke it out on 8 June as the champion of Australia and New Zealand, playing winners from North America, Europe and Japan in the Splatoon 2 World Championships.

Aussie local Ghost emerged victorious in the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Australasian Open Grand Final, besting SebPro101, Ichigo and PillowTalk in finals action. As the top three players from this past weekend’s action will represent both Australia and New Zealand at the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate World Championships on 8 June, locals should look to get behind Ghost, SebPro101 and Ichigo.

You can watch both finals series below. Splatoon 2 and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate are both available on Nintendo Switch. E3 2019 formally takes place between 11-13 June in Los Angeles, California; we’ve got details of all event press conferences here.
