EA’s new “action genre” IP won’t be out until 2020 or 2021

During a recent investor call, EA CFO Blake Jorgensen said the publisher’s new “action genre product” won’t be released until 2020 or 2021.

“Today we’re building an action genre product that’s probably in our fiscal 2020 or 2021, as well as action-oriented games around the Star Wars genre,” Jorgenson said. “Most of what we’re investing in that’s incremental now probably comes in fiscal 2019 and 2020.”

The fiscal 2020 year carries into 2021.

It’s believed that the non-Star Wars title mentioned is the same one being handled by newly-created development house Motive Studios, helmed by ex-Assassin’s Creed Producer Jade Raymond.

We’ll have more on the title as it becomes available.
