EA Sports teasing a return to retro in NHL 14

The EA Sports NHL crew recently took to Facebook to tease a return to the series’ retro roots (in some fashion) with the return of the star indicators used to differentiate which player you were controlling, circa NHL 94.

The star indicators are also accompanied by a traditional NHL 94 overhead camera, not to mention what (we, at least, perceive) as a very blue shade of ice surface.

The picture above was posted to Facebook today with the caption, “LIKE because the STAR is back! Find out why on July 11.”

That’ll be more like 12 July for us Aussies. We’ll report back with what this all means when it becomes apparent.

NHL 14 will be available from 13 September on Xbox 360 and PS3.
