EA Sports PGA Tour has exclusive rights to the Masters

Take THAT, Tiger Woods and PGA 2K!

The upcoming, revitalised EA Sports PGA Tour will have exclusive rights to the PGA Masters tournament and the Augusta National Golf Club at which it is played, EA today announced.

The announcement was made one day before the real-life 2021 Masters tournament, with EA also confirming that the PGA Championship, the U.S. Open and the British Open will also appear in-game.

“We’re honored to partner with Augusta National, home of the Masters Tournament, to feature the course and its traditions exclusively in EA Sports PGA TOUR,” Cam Weber, Executive Vice President and General Manager of EA Sportss, declared in a press release. “EA Sports is committed to growing the love of sports for everyone, and through our partnerships with the PGA Tour, Augusta National and the other majors, we will bring new and longtime fans closer to the biggest events in golf than ever before.”

This will mark the first time the Augusta National course and the Masters tournament have appeared in a video game since 2013’s Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14. Competitor 2K was unable to use the course or the tournament within its recent PGA Tour 2K21.

A release date for EA Sports PGA Tour has not yet been named, but the title will be available upon Xbox Series S & X and PS5.
