EA Sports FIFA confirmed for the Nintendo Switch

Yesterday, EA Sports confirmed EA Sports FIFA for Nintendo Switch.

That’s right — FIFA. No number.

“New hardware is always a positive for our industry,” said EA’s Patrick Söderlund.

“Nintendo’s heritage is to always push forward, to dare to choose their own path, and now they are doing it again with the Nintendo Switch. We’re excited to be partnered with them again, and to bring new experiences to players on this brand new platform.”

It’s unclear if the title will use Frostbite ala current-gen offerings on Xbox One and PS4, though rumours of an inferior engine are already running rampant.

A release date for the title was not named.

We’ll keep you posted.
