Manage a football team.
EA Sports has not only announced EA Sports FC Empires for iOS and Android devices, but has today released it in early access here within Australia.
“EA Sports FC Empires is a social football strategy game for mobile devices where you build your club, manage your teams, explore with your guildmates, and challenge rivals,” EA said in a press release. “Control every aspect of your club. Build your club infrastructure and facilities, manage your squad’s lineup and tactics, gather your guild members together, and match up against others from around the world.”
The free-to-play mobile title will include players and clubs from the likes of Premier League, Bundesliga, LALIGA EA SPORTS, Serie A Made in Italy, and Ligue 1 McDonald’s. All up, more than 4,000 footballers from 98 clubs will feature. While it looks to revolve around a Football Ultimate Team (FUT) experience — likely with microtransactions attached — it also has a bit of a SimCity look and feel when it comes to its overworld.
Sadly, none of those 4,000 aforementioned footballers will be women, with EA confirming to Stevivor as part of a special press preview that “there are currently no immediate plans for women’s leagues to be introduced into the game, though these plans may change in future.”
Anyways, back to the press release, in which EA promised that players will be able to “take control of every aspect of your club’s growth and development… [and] build key facilities, such as the Stadium, Training pitches, Club Stores, and more, upgrade them to run everything more efficiently.”
Players will be able to manage up to three different teams, looking after “scouting, coaching, lineup, and formation”.
EA Sports also confirmed with Stevivor that microtransactions will be part of EA Sports FC Empires, though it wasn’t ready to detail what those associated costs would look like.
We’ll grab some download links when available, and report back on those pesky microtransactions when we’re able.
EA Sports FC Empires is currently available in early access on iOS and Android devices in Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand.
