EA shutting down four free-to-play games

EA today announced that it will shut down four free-to-play Windows PC games.

The four games that are affected are Battlefield Heroes, Battlefield Play4Free, FIFA World and Need for Speed World.

EA’s Patrick Söderlund admitted the games weren’t “as popular as they once were,” via a post on The Beat. Söderlund also added that Star Wars: The Old Republic “continues to have a very enthusiastic and growing player community.”

The games will operate for the next 90 days, and close up on 14 July.
