EA Origin accounts starting with the letters A-F may have been compromised

CSO Online is reporting that several hundred EA accounts — with usernames beginning with the letters A through to F — have potentially been compromised.

The site reports that a recently posted Pastebin document revealed email addresses and even some passwords, though not all entries had complete data.

EA itself has said it can find no evidence its database was breached.

“At this point, we have no indication that this list was obtained through an intrusion of our account databases. In an abundance of caution, we’re taking steps to secure any account that has an EA or Origin user ID that matches the usernames on this list,” EA advised. “As always, we encourage all players to safeguard their account credentials and use unique usernames and passwords on all online accounts.”

It seems like all’s well, but if you’re concerned, it’s best to go and change your EA Origin password.

While the original Pastebin document has since been deleted, you can head to Have I Been Pwned to check on your account.
