E3 2022 will be an online event (again)

The return to an in-person event has been postponed.

E3 2022 will yet again be an online event as the COVID-19 Omicron variant sweeps through the world.

“Due to the ongoing health risks surrounding COVID-19 and its potential impact on the safety of exhibitors and attendees, E3 will not be held in person in 2022,” the Electronic Software Association (ESA) told GamesBeat.

“We remain incredibly excited about the future of E3 and look forward to announcing more details soon.”

The ESA continued on to tell GamesBeat that it is “excited about the possibilities of an online event.”

E3 2020 was outright cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic; it returned for an online only event in 2021.

We’ll have more on E3 2022 as news is made available.
