DOOM on Switch: Yes to multiplayer, no to SnapMap

DOOM on Switch will offer up multiplayer but not SnapMap, Bethesda recently confirmed.

Speaking with Engadget, Bethesda confirmed that DOOM‘s online multiplayer component will be available, but won’t be packaged inside the game’s cartridge. Instead, the multiplayer will need to be acquired via a digital patch. It, alongside all previous DLC, will be available for free.

Bethesda also confirmed that SnapMap, the game’s map-building tool, will not be available in the game’s Switch release.

DOOM is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4. It heads to Switch later this year. We reviewed the game here.
