Doom Eternal runs at 60FPS on everything but Switch

Doom Eternal runs on 60FPS (frames-per-second) on every available platform but Nintendo Switch, id Software has confirmed.

That’s not a claim made on a technicality, either — Doom Eternal can run at 60FPS on the original Xbox One and PS4 in addition to Xbox One S, Xbox One X and PS4 Pro. As we reported yesterday, the PC version of the game can technically reach 1,000 FPS; you can check out (realistic) minimum and recommended specs right here.

The Switch version will run at 30FPS — that’s the trade-off for portability.

Doom Eternal heads to Windows PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Stadia on 20 March. A Switch release will follow.
