Don’t expect Gran Turismo 7 in 2014

Gran Turismo Creator Kazunori Yamauchi recently told Eurogamer that GT7 won’t be ready for 2014.

“We are working on the title,” Yamauchi said. “I don’t think it’ll make this year!”

Yamauchi also added that a pre-release Prologue edition of Gran Turismo 7 is not planned.

Yamauchi also confirmed that car assets will also be re-used in the next game to save time. Some assets date back to 2004’s Gran Turismo 4.

“I doubt that we’ll be throwing away the standard cars,” Yamauchi asserted. “Each car has its own fans. So I think we’ll hang on to the archive. In the meanwhile, some of those cars we may be able to make into Premium cars as they become available – but basically we’re more focussed [sic] on increasing the number of premium cars.”

Gran Turismo 7 is in development for PS4.
