Donkey Kong Bananza gets monthly in-game events

Mark your calendars?

New, monthly in-game events are planned for both Donkey Kong Bananza and its Emerald Rush DLC, Nintendo has announced. The events will be available to those who’ve completed Bananza‘s main story, Nintendo added.

“During each event period, players can tackle a special Emerald Rush challenge that shakes up the usual formula by setting some fixed conditions, such as the Emerald Perks they can obtain from fossils and Banandium Gems,” Nintendo said in a press release. “When selecting an Emerald Perk from three choices, the options presented to players will remain the same during each run.”

Those who successfully complete challenges and hit target scores will be rewarded with limited-edition statues and Banadium Chips, which can be exchanged for standard statues.

The game’s first event, called “Chip Fever”, will take place from 7.00 pm AEDT on 28 October, and run through until 6.59 pm AEDT on 4 November.

“During this time, players can smash their way through DK Island for a chance to collect statues of Enguarde and Kong Bananza,” Nintendo advised.
