The Division’s “Last Stand” detailed: 8v8 mode, new rewards and more

Ubisoft took to Twitch early in the morning to detail The Division‘s next expansion, “Last Stand”.

The content introduces a new 8v8 mode, joining two four-man squads onto one team and pitting it against another. Four-man groups will automatically join with other four-man groups, while solo matchmaking will join up those on their own. Players will need to be at least level 30 to play. To simplify identification of friend and foe, the game will basically paint allies as Division agents and enemies as Rogue agents, so this mode basically exists outside of The Division canon proper.

Matchmaking will not only take a player’s skill into account, but also performance in recent matches.

For “Last Stand”, the Dark Zone will be split into four different maps or zones, with three tactical locations called encryption points scattered inside each. Teams need to control those points to start a data transfer and gain capture points.

Success will earn special XP and “Last Stand” ranking, similar to the “Underground” expansion. New rewards will be given for victories and based on individual player skill.

The content will also bring Dark Zone 9 into the game.

We’ll have more on “Last Stand” as it’s known.

The Division is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4. “Last Stand” is expected in mid-2016.
