Lil Nas X is League of Legends’ new president

And he's creating stuff for the game as part of the role.

Lil Nas X will (randomly) join Riot Games as League of Legends’ president, the company has today announced.

In what is certainly not a day-to-day position, the musician will “be responsible for creating explosive musical moments, an ingenious League champion skin, and a spectacular live Worlds performance for the 180+ million monthly players and fans in the League universe,” Riot said in a press release.

First on Lil Nas X’s to-do list is launch his League anthem, “STAR WALKIN'” later this month. The track goes live on 23 Septmber; we’ve embedded Lil Nas X’s artist profile on Spotify so you can access it when that happens. Next, Lil Nas X will release a co-designed skin for new champion K’Sante, and finally, he’ll take the stage at the League Worlds Opening Ceremony on 5 November.

“I felt like it was time for me to try something new. I’ve left my mark on pop culture in so many ways, and now it’s time to take on the world of gaming. I will be the greatest President of League of Legends, of all time,” the artist said. “Also I’m going to make the best Worlds anthem of all time and put on the biggest, coolest, sexiest Worlds in the history of all Worlds!”

League of Legends is currently available on Windows PC.
