Disney Interactive preparing Star Wars, Marvel characters for Disney Infinity in the midst of staff layoffs

In the face of great popularity, Disney Interactive is reportedly ready to add Star Wars and Marvel characters into the Disney Infinity mix, while at the same time preparing to layoff several hundred members of staff.

The Wall Street Journal reported on the franchise editions alongside the layoffs.

Disney recently revealed that Disney Infinity had sold over three million units since launch, helping the company as a whole generate $16 million USD in operating income since August 2013.

Disney Infinity has a wide range of IPs injected into it, including Cars, Monsters Inc., Pirates of the Carribean and more.

Disney has owned Marvel since 2009 and acquired Star Wars in 2012.
