Dick Smith owes 3200 employees for unpaid leave

Business Insider today reports that Dick Smith Electronics owes around 3,200 staff approximately $2 million AUD in unpaid wages.

“Based on our investigations to date, we understand that up to 3,200 current and former employees of the Australian business may have been underpaid their annual leave loading entitlements, potentially dating back to 2010,” James Stewart of Dick Smith’s receiver Ferrier Hodgson said.

A current restructure has shaved 22 more jobs from the organisation.

Dick Smith isn’t our favourite retailer, and this move only makes matters worse.
