Development on the PS4 version of The Last of Us began right after PS3 work was completed

IGN yesterday reported that development on The Last of Us: Remastered on PS4 began just after development completed on the game’s PS3 version.

Naughty Dog Co-President Evan Wells confirmed the details with the publication.

“We had a lot of people on the forums saying, ‘Can I play this on PlayStation 4?'” Wells said. “We had actually been anticipating that, and started working on it pretty much as soon as we finished the PlayStation 3 [version].

“We weren’t sure if it was going to go anywhere, but when we saw the fans clamoring for it we doubled-down, and put more effort behind it,” he added.

The Last of Us: Remastered will head to PS4 this winter.
