Destiny’s “Taken King” Raid is Bungie’s “most epic finale”; built from Hard mode down

In conversation with GamesRadar, Bungie’s Luke Smith says Destiny‘s newest Raid, part of “The Taken King” expansion, is a “most epic finale”.

“You have to raise the bar,” Smith said. “The raid team always has the challenge of having to push itself a little further because expectations continue to go up, you know? It’s our biggest raid to date – in terms of encounters, of spaces, of the conclusion. It is our most epic finale.”

Smith also hinted at another difficulty level for “King’s Fall”, the upcoming raid.

“The way we developed King’s Fall was different to the other [raids], we developed Hard mode first this time, then scaled to Normal. And we have one more thing we’re not talking about yet that’s pretty special. It’s a twist I’m very excited about. It’s not just going to be Normal and Hard mode.”

He might want to talk, but looking at the game’s Achievements and Trophies, we’re willing to be the difficulty mode is called Heroic.

Destiny‘s “Taken King” expansion is available from 15 September; the King’s Fall Raid will become available from 18 September.
