Destiny’s sales in the UK are mostly on current-gen consoles

Official UK sales figures have confirmed that Destiny is the biggest new IP launch ever in the UK, surpassing the launch of Watch Dogs earlier in the year.

The figures also assert that last-gen consoles are finally losing steam, with PS4 sales making up 46% and Xbox One sales 36% of total units purchased.

The Xbox 360 has taken a 14% share of all copies sold while the PS3 sits at 4%. With platforms combined, figures are pretty much 50/50 for Xbox and PlayStation.

The figures, collecting physical sales only, should be fairly representative for the rest of the world.

What do you make of these stats? Can we finally pack up our Xbox 360s and PS3s?
