Destiny’s “Rise of Iron” now stable after two hour launch debacle

Destiny‘s “Rise of Iron” launch marked the first time in two years that the game experienced crippling server issues preventing Guardians from playing.

Users were met with server errors — usually of the Tapir variety — from 7.00 pm AEST last night.

Almost a full hour after launch, Bungie then advised that a queuing system would be implemented to try to get players into the game.

The never-before mentioned queue was wrought with problems; many Guardians complained they would be kicked from the queue periodically, only to be reinserted at the back of the line. The largest queue number we experienced during this time was 287,439 on Xbox One.

By roughly 9.00 pm AEST, the server issues appeared to die down, with users then able to access “Rise of Iron”. Just after midnight, Bungie advised that the largest login issues had been resolved.

Things are looking a lot better this morning, so go and have a crack if you haven’t yet!
